The following instructions are for information only and are not meant to be used as fitting guide by non professionals .
It is strongly recommended that this brake conversion kit is fitted by a professional fitting centre, possibly with some proven experience of TAROX brake conversion kits. Brakes are a critical piece of safety equipment for any vehicle and any mistake in fitting them may result in critical damages, injuries and death for which TAROX cannot take any responsibility.
Ensure the new disc corresponds to the vehicle on which it is being fitted.
Always replace discs in axle sets – failure to do so can result in dangerous, uneven braking.
Carefully clean the braking surface of the discs prior to installation, any grease could contaminate the brake pad.
The hub of the vehicle should be cleaned and any traces of brake dust build up, dirt or rust removed before mounting the new discs – failure to do so can result in excessive disc run out and lead to vibration.
When assembled check the run out of the disc, if run-out is excessive, remove the disc, reclean the hub and reassemble – if this stage of fitting is not carried out correctly
STEP 1
Remove the road wheel
STEP 2
Unbolt the original bake disc
STEP 3
Unbolt the original brake calipers, push back the brake pads away from the discs and remove the caliper from the stub axle
STEP 4
Remove the original brake discs
STEP 5
Unbolt and remove the original brake hose
STEP 6
Remove the caliper from the suspension hub
STEP 7
Thoroughly clean the bracket mounting point before offering up the bracket
STEP 8
Offer up the new mounting bracket to the hub, ensure correct fitment then bolt the bracket to the original caliper mounting . It is strongly recommended to tighten fully only when satisfied that no further adjustment is required.
STEP 9
Clean the hub carrier surface to make sure that its mounting surface is perfectly level and free of rust/dirt build up.
STEP 10
Offer up the new brake disc to check the clearance between the hub carrier , the disc and the bracket, then attach using the original mounting bolt.
STEP 11
Offer the caliper up to the mounting bracket and check clearance . Add shims supplied if necessary. Bolt the caliper to the mounting bracket and tighten all bolts to the manufacturers’ torque setting.
STEP 12
Fit the new brake lines supplied, ensure all washers are in place and all connections are tight but do not over tighten
STEP 13
Bleed the brakes making sure that there is no air in the system . TAROX recommend the use its RoadRace brake fluid.
STEP 14
Offer up the road wheel to check clearance
STEP 15
Take the first test drive with new parts at moderate speed, making sure that all the newly fitted parts are perfectly clear and work without obstruction
